fiction architecturale_ Projet de fin d’études, ENSA Paris-MalaquaisDirecteurs d’études: Luca Merlini, Can OnanerFévrier 2014 Sous forme de fiction, Hôtel Tiraspol est un projet d’architecture qui s’interroge sur l’existence d’un pays de non-droit, la Transnistrie, et sur le délire géopolitique qu’il engendre. La Transnistrie est un territoire qui se situe en Moldavie, en Europe de l’Est. Ce territoire qui ne fait pas plus de 4 000 km2 (un petit plus que la superficie du Luxembourg) s’est autoproclamé indépendant en 1991 après la chute de l’Union soviétique. La capitale, Tiraspol, conserve encore toutes les symboles de l’époque communiste: la statue de Lénine devant le Parlement, appelé encore Palais de Soviets, des blindés de guerre, symboles militaires de la ville et un stade hors-normes pour une ville de la taille de Tiraspol, avec l’équipe FC Sheriff Tiraspol. La frontière entre les deux territoires est delimitée par le fleuve Dnistr. Des militaires armés font office de check-point, à l’entrée de chaque pont. C’est ici que le projet se situe, à la place d’un point de barrage. La figure du check-point agi comme agissait le mur auparavant. Plus que la frontière, c’est l’acte de la traversée qui fait fantasmer. La nécessité d’échanges rend l’espace de la frontière poreux. Son rôle n’est pas seulement de clôre un espace, mais surtout de contrôler les accès. En effet peu d’informations circulent sur la ville de Tiraspol, peu sont véridiques mais surtout aucune n’est vérifiable. Plusieurs versions de ce qui se trame dans cette ville existent, autant des versions officielles qu’officieuses. La position fermée de Tiraspol fait émerger des visions de l’extérieur et de l’intérieur. Ainsi le projet est né de l’analyse de l’ensemble des versions et le statut abstrait de la rumeur a trouvé une forme architecturale. Raconté par le biais de deux personnages, le touriste et l’évadé de Tiraspol, le projet traite de la condition du voyageur contemporain et son désir de transgression. Le touriste est celui qui crée les rumeurs, qui veut transgresser l’interdiction d’entrée dans cette ville et qui veut se mettre en position d‘insécurité, fasciné par ce qui lui est caché. L’habitant de Tiraspol est celui qui veut s’affranchir des rumeurs. Par son statut, habitant d’un pays qui n’est pas reconnu, il devient prisonnier et veut s’échapper. Il s’appellera l’évadé de Tiraspol. A partir de cette dualité, l’hôtel se compose de deux parties : une officielle pour le touriste et une officieuse pour l’évadé. Les deux mondes s’imbriquent et l’entrelacent constamment, créant des connexions visuelles, mais seulement un endroit permet à l’un ou à l’autre usager de changer de monde: la piscine. La logique d’organisation place toujours l’officiel avec les vues des chambres sur Tiraspol et l’officieux est toujours tourné vers l’intérieur, sur l’atrium central. La logique structurelle est constituée d’une trame qui facilite la modularité des espaces, où parcours parallèles peuvent coexister, et espaces officieux s’agripper à la structure officielle de l’hôtel. L’architecture de la partie officielle est normée, répétitive, systématique. Elle est transgressée par l’architecture des rumeurs, qui s’inscruste, se plie, s’adapte à l’officielle, la contourne et la détourne au même temps. Installé dans la trame de l’espace officiel, l’officieux devient camouflage. Hôtel Tiraspol accorde autant de place à l’illégal qu’au légal. Interdépendance des programmes et croisement des usages en réponse à une révolte interne de chacun : le touriste en quête de risque et l’évadé en quête de liberté risquée. Ce projet est l’expression matérielle et architecturale de tout un contexte géopolitique. L’échelle du projet et sa matérialité reflètent l’empreinte dictatoriale politique et sociale de ce bout d’Europe. Attenant à la véranda, une terrasse linéaire en bois longe la façade avec de nombreux pots en terre cuite plantés d’arbustes et de vivaces à fleurs, ainsi qu’une collection de plantes aromatiques destinée aux usages du bar et de la cuisine. Au-delà de cette terrasse d’une largeur de 3m située sur la dalle, le jardin se prolonge avec des micro terrasses posées sur la terre et ceinturées par des arbres et arbustes foisonnants. Ces terrasses dédiées aux usagers de l’hôtel sont comme des petits jardins à la fois urbains mais au caractère et à l’esprit ‘maraicher’ dans la composition. Enfin le fond du jardin est constitué de grandes structures-bibliothèques de plantes en pots ceinturées de végétation luxuriante. Ces structures métalliques démontables diminuent le sentiment de grandeur des murs pignons qui clôturent le jardin.
